As of 14:00 on October 29, the center of this tropical depression was located at 12.0°N, 115.0°E, moving westward at 23 km/h. The central pressure was 1002 hPa, with maximum sustained winds near the center at 15 m/s and maximum gusts at 23 m/s.

Typhoon Meredith has formed. As of 02:00 on the 30th, its center was at 13.2°N, 112.7°E, moving westward at 17 km/h. The central pressure was 998 hPa, with maximum sustained winds near the center at 18 m/s and maximum gusts at 25 m/s. The radius of the 7-level storm wind area was 100 km.

On the 30th (Wednesday) and 31st (Thursday), under the influence of the northeastern monsoon, the northern and northeastern regions will experience slightly cool weather, while other areas will also be rather cool in the morning and evening. There will be large diurnal temperature variations in central and southern Taiwan. The northeastern and eastern parts of Taiwan will have rain, with localized heavy or torrential rain possible. The northern and southeastern regions will see localized brief showers, while other areas, as well as Penghu, Kinmen, and Matsu, will be mostly cloudy to sunny, with scattered brief showers in the mountainous areas of central and southern Taiwan in the afternoon.
