A nostalgic grandma’s bathroom has appeared in the Singapore subway.
The Taiwan Tourism Bureau’s office in Singapore continues the aesthetic concept of Taiwanese towns. This time, they’ve brought a grandma’s bathroom into the subway car. Before November 11, passengers on Singapore’s Northeast Line can spot this vintage bathroom, evoking plenty of nostalgia and smiles.

The deeply Taiwanese grandma’s bathtub stirs up many memories and brings smiles.
Upon entering the subway, the most eye-catching feature is this classic retro bathtub—made of mosaic pebble tiles, with a ladle, a cartoon-patterned toothbrush cup, towels, and even a yellow rubber duck to entertain kids during bath time. It’s like stepping into a time machine, recalling childhood days at grandma’s house.

Beyond the bathtub, the train windows feature traditional Taiwanese window grilles, including four different designs: cloud shapes, plum blossoms, swastika patterns, and diamonds. These represent the architectural craftsmanship of Taiwan’s “first homes” built during the economic boom of the 1970s. The exquisitely decorated yet theft-resistant iron window grilles beautifully showcase Taiwanese cultural flair.
