When I spotted this corner, I couldn’t help but laugh with excitement. My favorite is ORIHIRO’s fruit gummies. Drugstores usually only carry two or three flavors, but here there are entire walls of them. You can buy every flavor you want in one go.

Another must-buy item in Kyoto is anything related to matcha. This Don Quijote has dedicated half a wall of shelving to an abundance of matcha-flavored snacks—both the common and the rare, including Kyoto-limited editions. All are available here. Feeling peckish, I chose this conveyor belt sushi spot for a satisfying meal, and it turned out to be a hidden gem.

The interior is minimalist, and you can see the kitchen where sea bream are swimming right in front of everyone. You can tell how fresh the ingredients are.

I’ve tried many conveyor belt sushi spots, but the quality here really surpasses most of them. Because they select the freshest seasonal ingredients, the fish is rich in oils, and every bite is pure joy. I could eat here endlessly. And to let everyone try more flavors, there are also combo sets like the sashimi trio and shrimp trio that I ordered—so thoughtful.

Each seat is equipped with an ordering screen, complete with Chinese language support, so you don’t have to worry about not understanding anything.

After eating your fill, it’s time to walk it off. This GU store on the fifth floor will keep you busy for hours, and it’s also fully stocked with no lines.

GU is known for its great quality and super affordable prices. From everyday wear to pajamas to lingerie—so cute it’s almost explosive.
