2019Year6Month14Day, five members of the Humanities and Social Science Expedition Team from the Peak Cloud Society at China Agricultural University14took advantage of their weekend free time to hold a magazine charity sale on the square west of the gymnasium at the university’s East Campus. The team aimed to raise funds for purchasing school supplies and picture books for children in their teaching support area, and also to send them encouragement and blessings by collecting postcards from faculty and students across the campus.
At around8:30am, the five team members began preparing the magazines for sale and setting up the small charity sale booth.
Although light rain was falling in the morning, it did not dampen the team’s enthusiasm for the charity sale, and there was a continuous stream of buyers. Not only did students from the university generously donate out of kindness, but passing teachers and even ordinary pedestrians stopped by the sale booth to purchase magazines. Children who came along joined in writing postcards, earnestly penning sincere messages of blessing for children in Tibetan areas thousands of miles away.
At around3:30pm, the charity sale came to an end. This eventraised a total of824yuan, including a donation of50yuan from one student who hoped to contribute to the children in the teaching support area. After a long day of hard work, though tired, the expedition team members were happy to see so many people paying attention to and caring for the children in Tibetan areas, and they were deeply moved by everyone’s generosity.
From2005to the present, the Humanities and Social Science Expedition Team of China Agricultural University’s Peak Cloud Society has been conducting social practice in Tibet for14consecutive years, and this year marks the fifteenth year. This year, the team’s teaching support activities will take place at the Central Primary School in Riwu Town, Dingjie County, Shigatse City, Tibet Autonomous Region. It is believed that this charity sale will be a strong boost to the teaching support effort, and we wish the Humanities and Social Science Expedition Team a successful completion of their practical activities this year.
