Manufacturing Strength Starts with Innovation | Revealing the Award-Winning Products of the Asia-Pacific Outdoor Innovation Awards!

On June 20, with the opening of the Asia-Pacific Outdoor Show, the award ceremony of the Asia-Pacific Outdoor Innovation Awards was held at 10:00 am on the same day on the stage area of Hall 5 at the Nanjing International Expo Center. Meanwhile, 44 award-winning products were displayed collectively at the entrance of Hall 4.

As the theme of this year’s awards, “the spirit of innovation” runs through the design of all the winning products. Among them are the first domestic branded 8000+ meter mountain climbing boots — the KAILAS EVEREST 8000+ Mountaineering Boots, the Smile Shark Camping Lantern that integrates multiple lighting functions, and of course, the ZENONE Lightweight Trekking Pole by ZAN ONE weighing just 99g. Whether it’s further professional advancement or enhanced integration, the innovation in outdoor gear is leading to smarter and more efficient equipment, thereby making the outdoor industry more user-friendly.

2019 was the year when the new term in the outdoor industry — “trendy functionality” — came to life. Traditional outdoor brands began crossing over into fashion trends, while more trend-driven brands are also eager to make their mark in the outdoor field. The Asia-Pacific Outdoor Innovation Awards set upthe “Trendy Functionality Award”to encourage the emerging trendy functionality designs that have emerged in the outdoor industry this year. Brands such as Rico Lee and CAREY DESIGN broke away from traditional outdoor apparel design and integrated fashion-forward designs that have appeared on runway shows, successfully winning the Trendy Functionality Award!

The Asia-Pacific Outdoor Show remains committed to encouraging “green outdoor” practices among outdoor brands and enthusiasts. Therefore,the Asia-Pacific Outdoor Innovation Awards have established a special “Eco Award”for environmentally friendly products. The “Retro Light” series lamps by SLR, made from recycled old gas canisters collected from mountains and fields, feature vintage table lamp craftsmanship along with refined use of recycled materials. The “Retro Light” series is not just a product made from recycled materials, but also a finely crafted work of art rich in “green” meaning.

In recent years, the number of women participating in outdoor activities has shown a gratifying year-on-year increase, presenting new demands for the outdoor market, which has traditionally been male-dominated. The Asia-Pacific Outdoor Innovation Awards established the “Women’s Product Award” to encourage outdoor brands to create uniquely thoughtful designs for women. Whether it’s the optimized design by SEA TO SUMMIT or the “thoughtful” care from AIBOER, more female-friendly designs represent not only respect but also genuine care.
