Hong Kong Ocean Park teams up with the popular Japanese anime One Piece for the first time, hosting SKECHERS Presents: Hong Kong Ocean Park’s Summer Water Battle from July 13 to September 1. The event features seven One Piece-themed attractions and splash zones to create an exciting water battle extravaganza. Highlights include the massive “Pirates: Water Battle Showdown,” showcasing the classic One Piece battle “Marineford War,” the interactive “Pirates’ Wanted Posters” splash zone, and the surprising “Giant Luffy Straw Hat” waterfall installation. Plus, there are more iconic One Piece scene backdrops for photo ops, allowing fans to live out their dream of joining the Straw Hat Pirates crew.

Seven Attractions Recreate Iconic One Piece Scenes and Beloved Characters for an Epic Summer Battle

During the summer holidays, Hong Kong Ocean Park constructed the massive water battlefield “Pirates: Water Battle Showdown” at the waterfront plaza, recreating the most legendary battle in One Piece — the “Marineford War.” Visitors can team up in squads of eight, board the Thousand Sunny deck, and join the Straw Hat Pirates in battling the Navy. Wielding water guns, they’ll navigate through mysterious waterfalls, splash tunnels, deep-sea caves, and fountain mazes. The Navy faction’s heavy water bomb attacks and numerous water cannon mechanisms will drench everyone thoroughly for an exhilarating experience.

Fans eager to meet their favorite One Piece characters shouldn’t miss the daily “Straw Hat Crew Meet-and-Greet” at the waterfront plaza, where you can take photos with Luffy, Chopper, and others. Other One Piece-themed photo spots include the giant “Thousand Sunny Bow” docked at the park’s entrance at Mystic Point, instantly evoking the thrill of embarking on the “Grand Line.” The “Pirates’ Wanted Posters” at the waterfront plaza combine interactive water play with great photo opportunities, letting you become a “high-reward wanted criminal.” A cool waterfall cascades from the “Giant Luffy Straw Hat,” creating an exciting spectacle that offers a refreshing chill in the summer heat. Kids Can Become Little Pirates During the Summer Water Battle

Young ones can transform into mini pirate captains during Hong Kong Ocean Park’s Summer Water Battle by taking on the “Little Pirates’ Water Splash Battle” at Whiskers Harbour. Challenges include the Straw Hat water arch, super-sized water curtains, and fountain mazes. They can even engage in water gun duels with other little pirates for a fun-filled water fight. Adorable versions of One Piece characters are hidden throughout Whiskers Harbour’s decorations, and visitors can join Luffy and his crew at the “Little Pirates’ Bubble Party,” making new friends amidst a sea of bubbles.

Hong Kong’s First VR Drop Ride Delivers a Brand-New Thrill Experience

Beyond the water attractions, Hong Kong Ocean Park introduces Hong Kong’s first virtual reality (VR) drop ride this summer — “Thrill Mountain: VR Space Exploration.” By wearing a VR headset, riders can upgrade the classic “Thrill Mountain” ride and embark on a space mission on Titan, Saturn’s largest moon. The journey offers breathtaking cosmic sights and the heart-pounding thrill of a high-speed plunge back to Earth through space.

Themed Food and Merchandise Make the Summer Adventure Even More Complete

The Bayview Café and Aqua City Bakery will become gathering spots for the Straw Hat crew. In addition to plenty of photo ops, visitors can enjoy limited-time One Piece-themed meal sets, drinks, and desserts at select restaurants or snack kiosks. The creamy seafood chowder “Setting Sail on the Grand Line” marks the beginning of a joyful voyage. Main courses include “Franky Punch” and “I’m Gonna Be King of the Pirates!!” — the former presents a seafood risotto shaped like Franky’s powerful fist, while the latter features a Luffy straw hat made of mashed potatoes atop tender beef cheek in red wine sauce. The dessert, “Capture Luffy,” is a butter cookie printed with Luffy’s wanted poster, paired with a charcoal chocolate mousse cake — perfect for fans to indulge like the ever-hungry Luffy.
