Free & Guided Tour Guides for Hong Kong & Macau Travel!

Speaking of Hong Kong and Macau, their unique cultural and historical background—different from that of mainland China—has created distinctive travel resources. If you find it inconvenient to travel abroad, why not experience Hong Kong and Macau first?

Earlier this year, I went on a trip with some friends. Before diving into the guide, let me say that for cities like Hong Kong and Macau, which have been developed as tourist destinations for many years, there are basically three ways to explore them.

The first is pure independent travel—you need to do a lot of research in advance, but due to the different environments in Hong Kong and Macau, you’re bound to miss out on many details. Plus, you’ll have to book your own accommodations, tickets, and transportation, which takes up a lot of time and money.

The second option is to join a tour group organized by a travel agency or platforms like Ctrip or Qunar. These are often cheap, but the experience is usually not great—not recommended!

The third option is what I chose this time: having a professional travel planner arrange everything for you.

This time, we’d like to thank the popular travel planner Zhou Zhou (phone: 18319999967 ← same number on WeChat) for her warm service and thoughtful arrangements—we had an amazing time. Since the attractions in Hong Kong and Macau are quite spread out, traffic is heavy, and you also have to deal with border crossings and ferries, things can easily go wrong if you don’t plan ahead. You might get detained, lost, or confused due to language differences (let’s just say Hong Kong-style Mandarin is really easy to misunderstand), messing up your whole itinerary. For those who want a worry-free and budget-friendly trip, it’s best to consult her first. PS: Her consultation is free. Add this Hong Kong-Macau expert and you’re guaranteed a fun trip. The tour package isn’t expensive either—about 700 RMB per person, with absolutely no forced shopping.

Let me briefly introduce our itinerary this time. We entered from Shenzhen. For specific preparation procedures, it’s best to ask Zhou Zhou.

Day 1: Pick-up in Shenzhen & Check-in

Day 2: Enter Hong Kong via Huanggang Port – Ocean Park – Repulse Bay – Victoria Peak

Day 3: Hong Kong – Shopping – Victoria Harbour – Take a ferry

Day 4: Macau – The Venetian – Ruins of St. Paul’s – Fortaleza do Monte

Day 5: Zhuhai – New Yuanming Palace – Statue of the Fisherman’s Wife

I absolutely love Hong Kong’s night view. This city, where modernity meets retro charm, has a unique allure when the lights come on at night. Here’s a candid shot of a guy I took—Hong Kong people seem really good at skincare; the guys are handsome and the girls are beautiful.

If my itinerary doesn’t match your schedule or the places you want to visit, get in touch with Zhou Zhou and she’ll customize and plan your trip based on your needs. Looking back now, I feel so lucky Zhou Zhou helped us plan the route. We didn’t have to worry about a thing, visited all the spots we wanted, had time to explore on our own, discovered some local street food, and best of all—it was affordable!

Costs

Before departure, I compared several options and finally went with the package Zhou Zhou recommended: a little over 1,600 RMB, which included border crossing procedures, transportation for the entire trip, guided tours, attraction tickets, accommodation, meals, and more.

My friend and I did the math—if we had arranged everything ourselves:

Attraction tickets: 600 RMB

Accommodation: At least 2,000 RMB for 4 nights in a star-rated hotel. Many hotels in Hong Kong have small and pricey rooms, but luckily Zhou Zhou booked us very comfortable ones.

Meals: 500 RMB

Transportation: 700 RMB

Guide: 300 RMB (It’s really important to have a guide in Hong Kong and Macau. Otherwise, you might miss scenic spots, and more importantly, they can help you handle emergencies.)

Traveling on your own would cost at least 4,000 RMB. Zhou Zhou’s package is both worry-free and cost-effective, and most importantly, we all had a great time!

(Here’s a cozy and well-arranged room by Zhou Zhou—how about a bed photo?)

Tips

1. Border crossings in Hong Kong and Macau are super crowded, traffic is hectic, and taxis are expensive. If you’re planning to go, remember to have Zhou Zhou arrange things for you in advance!

2. Don’t fall for the “cheap group tours” or “last-minute deals” you see on the street—they usually just sell you to other travel agencies to make a profit. Always remember: there’s no such thing as a free lunch. Trying to save a few bucks will definitely backfire.

3. Bring your ID, phone, and travel companions, and off you go—you’re sure to have as much fun as we did!

If you have any questions about traveling, feel free to call me at 18319999967 (←same number for WeChat). I’m usually quite busy and may not be able to reply right away, but I’ll definitely get back to you as soon as I can.
