The Great Wall 100 Trail Race – Fenix Team Returns in Glory

On the occasion of the 70th anniversary of our nation

The Lei Trail Running event chose Beijing’s Pinggu District as the location for this race

A beautiful town at the foot of the Great Wall

Zhenluoying Town, Pinggu District, Beijing

 The mountaintop is shrouded in mist in the early morning

Unlike the hustle and bustle of the city

The natural scenery here feels even more refreshing

 Aside from the stunning views

This kind of environment is quite challenging for trail runners

 

The first leg involves climbing over 800 meters along this winding mountain road

 

And it gets even tougher from there

The day coincided with a cold snap in Beijing

Xiao Fei clearly remembers that the nighttime temperature dropped to just 4 degrees Celsius

Even wearing thermal layers and a windbreaker, she was still shivering

Four Fenix Team members won gold awards

4th place in the Men’s 100km category

Cui Tijian

With a time of 16 hours, 50 minutes, and 40 seconds

5th place in the Men’s 100km category

Chen Xuejun

With a time of 16 hours, 59 minutes, and 35 seconds

 

7th place in the Men's 100km category

Xu Zheng

with a time of 17 hours, 6 minutes, and 56 seconds

 

4th place in the Women's 100km category

Zhou Li

with a time of 20 hours, 50 minutes, and 52 seconds

 

2nd place in the Men's 50km category

Zhu Yi

with a time of 7 hours, 26 minutes, and 24 seconds
