With the crisp autumn breeze and vibrant red leaves, various regions across Sichuan Province have successively entered the prime foliage viewing season. As a traditional destination for colorful forest scenery, the Erlangshan Laba River Scenic Area welcomed over a thousand hiking enthusiasts from Happy China Network on October 19. They successfully completed an autumn trekking activity, which also served as a major dress rehearsal for the smooth hosting of the Third Erlangshan Red Leaf Festival in Tianquan County.

At the scene, reporters observed the hikers setting off in formation, trekking along the scenic area roads toward the cable car station. In the midst of autumn, the colorful forests lining the paths were a riot of hues, with the woods painted in layers of brilliant colors. The Colorful Valley and Deer Pool are currently among the best spots to admire the autumn foliage. Occasional sightings of monkeys by the roadside or birds flying overhead added a touch of liveliness to this serene world. “The scenery along the way is absolutely stunning!” said Mr. Li, a hiker from Chengdu. “The altitude here is around 2,000 meters, the distance is just right, and the air is fresh all the way. There’s a new view at every step—it’s incredibly beneficial. Coming here to exercise and clear your lungs is not tiring at all.”

“In addition to the two hiking events on the 19th and 20th, there will be two more large-scale hiking activities on the 26th and 27th of next week,” introduced Wang Fan, a relevant official from the Laba River Scenic Area. “To better welcome visitors coming to admire the red leaves, and to ensure they have a joyful experience while enjoying the colorful forests, the scenic area has organized a variety of activities. For example, there’s a TikTok challenge campaign with the theme #MeetingYouInTheDeepForest—participants can shoot TikTok videos for a chance to win prizes. At locations such as the jungle trekking and aerial cableway projects, there are engaging and participatory activities like the Jungle Challenge and the Scream Challenge, open to all.”

It is reported that the Third Tianquan County Erlangshan Red Leaf Festival is about to kick off, during which the Laba River Scenic Area will welcome even more visitors to admire the colorful forests and red leaves.
