The Chimei Museum, a building that looks like a European palace, is located within the Tainan Metropolitan Park, covering an expansive area of 40 hectares, making it the third largest urban park in Taiwan in terms of size.

As it is adjacent to the San-Ye-Gong Creek and the terrain is low-lying, making water retention easy, the park adopts an ecological landscape flood-control pool design. This not only creates natural scenic views for visual enjoyment but also provides flood control and water storage functions during heavy rain.
