Shibuya’s new landmark, Shibuya Scramble Square, opened last November, with its top floors and rooftop entirely dedicated to the observation deck (Shibuya Sky). On a clear day, you can see Mount Fuji from here (related report). Recently, people noticed that looking south toward Yokohama, you can actually see Haneda Airport. Using long-exposure photography techniques, you can capture what looks like anti-aircraft artillery fire lines being launched into the sky！
Photographers of course know these are light trails created by planes taking off and landing, but for many Japanese people who have been “brainwashed” by a wealth of sci-fi anime over the years, seeing this photo of “anti-aircraft fire appearing in Tokyo Bay at night” naturally brings to mind scenes of “Angels attacking” or “Godzilla arriving.” Some even commented, “We must stand up to defend!” causing quite a stir online.

Netizen Limuyasu (@limuyasu) stated that he used a 30-second exposure time to take this photo. The camera was simply placed on a table, without using a tripod. In fact, he also suspects that tripods might not be allowed on the rooftop observation deck.
Another netizen commented that at certain times, planes preparing to land at Haneda Airport fly over Shibuya. If you can also capture the “anti-aircraft fire line” effect in those moments, it would likely look spectacular！
