Taichung’s prominent arts and culture destination, the “Chinchin Museum of Art,” launched the “Kengo Kuma Material Park” outdoor architecture exhibition in late 2018 to prepare for an international architecture initiative spanning the next three years. As part of concluding its current phase, it entered a transformation and preparation period. Next to the construction site, it created a new demonstration space for project offices — the “Gongjia (ㄍㄨㄥ ㄍㄟ) Art Museum.”

“Gongjia Art Museum” is a limited-time project during the construction period. By integrating contemporary creativity and design energy, it not only enhances the functionality and environment of the construction site but also breaks down construction barriers, integrating the site as part of the neighborhood. The project office is transformed into a living space — and also into an art museum.

In collaboration with a massage therapy center for the visually impaired, weekly massage services are offered, allowing therapists a moment of relaxation during their short lunch break.

The building’s exterior features an abundance of steel bars and glass windows, allowing natural sunlight to filter through, creating a bright and comfortable indoor space. The daily life of the hardworking laborers is curated into a small exhibition, while the space also serves as a rest area for workers from the adjacent construction site. It conveys the beauty and value of the diligence of Taiwanese people, as well as the warmth and positive influence of a friendly society.
