A hidden waterfall wonderland tucked away in the mountains allows travelers to wander through valleys and forests, immerse themselves in rich phytoncides, and enjoy spectacular, awe-inspiring views.

Neidong Forest Recreation Area, located in Xinxian Village, Wulai District, New Taipei City, is known as "Doll Valley." Its ecological environment is well preserved and it represents the low-altitude stream canyon ecosystem of northern Taiwan. The upper reaches of the Nanshi Stream cut through the rocky cliffs, forming steep and majestic canyon landscapes that connect seamlessly with the Wulai Scenic Area.

The park features numerous waterfalls, among which the Xinxian Three-Tiered Waterfall and Wulai Waterfall are the most iconic. The area is densely covered with broadleaf forests, fostering a rich and diverse ecosystem. Travelers can explore several kilometers of forest bathing trails, immersing themselves in the beauty of landscapes, birds, ferns, and butterflies.

The trails are lined with lush trees, including broadleaf species and Japanese cedar, featuring tall trunks and dense foliage. The steep cliffs along the stream banks retain a highly pristine forest appearance, and the high air humidity within the valley contributes to an especially rich ecological landscape.

Within Neidong Forest Recreation Area flows the Nanshi Stream, while the Neidong Stream converges from the south. A series of small and large mountain waterfalls are formed due to the barrier of a check dam. Among them, Xinxian Waterfall is locally referred to as the “Xinxian Hidden Waterfall,” featuring a three-tiered cascade with abundant water flow and a majestic rush. Moreover, the anion content within Neidong National Forest Recreation Area ranks the highest among all forest recreation areas in Taiwan, making it an ideal spot for experiencing forest bathing.
