On the eve of Christmas, not only does New Taipei City’s Happy Christmas Town boast a magnificent sea of lights, but those looking to capture stunning starlight skywalk photos can also head to the plaza and skywalk in front of the Eight Trigrams Mountain Giant Buddha in Changhua County, where the “Changhua Moonlight Lantern Festival” is being held. The enchanting photo spots and romantic atmosphere offer endless opportunities for beautiful pictures.

The breathtaking light displays rival those of New Taipei’s Christmas Town.
The festival centers around the theme of “Wishing & Adventure.” The illuminated area, stretching over 2 kilometers from the Eight Trigrams Mountain Archway all the way along the entire skywalk, is illuminated by 500,000 LED bulbs, transforming the entire Eight Trigrams Mountain into a giant amusement park.
The over 2-kilometer-long illuminated zone turns the skywalk into a starlit boulevard.
The 50-day exhibition period gives travelers plenty of time to snap great photos.
The “Changhua Moonlight Lantern Festival” runs daily from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, starting December 22, 2019, and continuing until February 9, 2020 — a full 50 days that span Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and the Lunar New Year, allowing visitors to enjoy the festive lights to the fullest.
The light displays are divided into five major story-themed zones.
