When people think of urban parks, they often think of Da’an Forest Park. A 1-hectare hillside near Xingshun Street in Wenshan District, Taipei City, has undergone years of relocation, consolidation, and planning. The brand-new “Wenshan Forest Park” is expected to be completed in 2021!

Wenshan Forest Park features an irregular, rake-shaped hillside area. The plan connects it with the nearby Jingshui and Fuxing Parks to the east and west. Flat sections follow the hands-on trail philosophy, using permeable gravel and dirt paths that conform to the natural terrain, while elevation changes are bridged by boardwalks.
The park also plants a large number of native trees and shrubs along the trails to restore forest ecology, and arranges seasonal-themed areas based on the changing colors of the forest throughout the year.
