Top IG Spots for the Movie "The Rope Curse" – A One-Day Trip to Changhua’s Coastal Area

Aside from being a haven for floral attractions, Changhua’s coastal region presents another uniquely beautiful landscape. In towns such as Shenkang, Xianxi, and Lukang in Changhua County, reclaimed land has been transformed into industrial zones. It’s also a popular route for road trips and enjoying the seaside breeze. Meanwhile, Xianxi District within the Changhua Coastal Industrial Park boasts numerous hidden gems that can be explored all in one day.

This short wooden boardwalk located beneath a bridge near the Qing’an Waterway is not only visually striking but also served as a key filming location for the movie “The Rope Curse.” The film is based on the unique Changhua folk ritual known as “Song Rouzong” (Sending the Rice Dumpling), which is associated with exorcism, adding a compelling backstory to the site and making it a popular IG photo spot.

Another new attraction situated along Highway 61, near the Qing’an Waterway in Shenkang Township, is the “Natural Ecology Education Center.” Its pure white building atop the coastal green hill features one side with wind-swept architectural lines and the other with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea. Even before its official opening, it has already attracted many visitors for photos, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the year.

The “Changhua Ruins” in Xianxi Industrial Zone of the Changhua Coastal Area is an abandoned large-scale textile factory, located near the junction of Provincial Highway 1B and Highway 61. Its desolate, dilapidated style has made it a hit on IG, perfect for capturing edgy and distinctive photos. It’s also a great place to feel the passage of time while enjoying the sea breeze on its open platforms.
