01・Toread transfers 29% stake in Euyou World
On November 15, Toread Holding Group Co., Ltd. announced that it had transferred a 29% stake in Euyou World International Travel Agency (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (abbreviated as “Euyou World”) to Beijing Chunguang Si Jin Management Consulting Service Center (Limited Partnership), with the equity transfer payment amounting to 7.4066 million yuan. According to the announcement, this transfer helps Toread focus resources on developing its core outdoor products business, optimize its asset structure, and improve operational efficiency. As a shareholder, Toread will continue to maintain collaborative cooperation with Euyou World.

Currently, Sport Fashion Service owns the urban-style down apparel brand Ciesse Piumini, the professional sportswear brand Ciesse Outdoor, and the ski apparel brand West Scout. Through this acquisition, Mittel will re-enter the outdoor and lifestyle sectors. Outdoor sports have attracted attention from numerous brands in recent years; besides Mittel, Prada also relaunched its sports line Linea Rossa in 2018.

1 1・ Burton Founder Jake Burton Carpenter Passes Away Due to Illness, Skiing Community Mourns Deeply
On November 20, 2019 (U.S. time), Burton founder Jake Burton Carpenter passed away due to illness. Jake Burton Carpenter was one of the most important inventors and promoters of modern snowboarding, the creator of the world’s largest snowboard brand, and known as the “godfather of snowboarding.” He founded the Burton brand in a barn in Vermont in 1977. Although he did not invent the snowboard, his improved boards and bindings transformed snowboarding from a semi-toy-like recreational activity known as “Snurfer” into a true sport.
Thank you, Jake Burton Carpenter, for everything you’ve done for snowboarding. May you continue to enjoy your beloved sport in heaven.
