The “2019 New Taipei City Christmas Town” was officially inaugurated on November 15 with a lighting ceremony hosted by New Taipei Mayor Hou Yu-ih, dazzling the world with its spectacular Christmas main light show and kicking off a series of exciting Christmas Town events！

The “2019 New Taipei City Christmas Town” is now officially lit up and open！ In addition to the Christmas main light display, there are also themed areas such as the Civic Plaza Light Zone “Santa Bear’s Magic Town,” the Station Front Plaza Light Zone “New Taipei Magic Forest,” and the Wanping Park Light Zone “Kanahei’s Sparkling Christmas Dream,” offering fun for 48 consecutive days all the way to New Year’s Day 2020！

This year, the popular Japanese idol group Nogizaka46 sent members Sayuri Matsumura and Ichimi Takayama to serve as special lighting ceremony guests. The event featured exclusive laser effects for 2019, creating eye-catching, dazzling light spectacles that transformed New Taipei into Taiwan’s most magical winter city.

Meanwhile, this year’s Christmas Town adopts “magic” as its theme, using brilliant fairy-tale yellow lighting as the main color tone to transform New Taipei City into a mysterious magical world.

New Taipei Christmas Town is world-renowned for having “the largest area of light sculpture shows in Taiwan.” This year, it has invited Singapore’s top light sculpture team, whose works span across Asia, to plan the main light show. For the first time, it combines 3D light projection and laser beams to create a 360-degree, multi-layered, immersive light and shadow experience.
