IKEA collaborates with Taipei MRT for the first time, transforming three popular MRT stations—"Ximen", "Nanjing Fuxing", and "Qizhang"—with brand-new looks. Tailored to the needs of different demographics, the spaces offer design inspiration to beautify your commute, making the journey to and from home even more delightful. The displays will be shown from now until February 14th next year. Visitors who take photos and upload them to social media can redeem gifts at IKEA stores.
The IKEA space at Ximen Station features eye-catching yellow containers paired with edgy furniture and home decor items, along with a wall where you can leave messages.
Each of the three MRT stations has its own unique style. Ximen Station uses contrasting colors and bold furniture and decor to create a dreamy space for the younger generation. From the entrance, you can see large IKEA teddy bear and shark installations, plus colorful printed decals that give the station exterior a complete makeover.

Inside Ximen Station, you’ll find a home-like space built from containers. The combination of geometric shapes, contrasting color schemes, and street-style graffiti is eye-catching, making the space both practical and stylish, while also reflecting individuality. The back wall of the container features a vinyl record-shaped message board, perfect for the young and expressive to unleash creativity and showcase their personalities.
Nanjing Fuxing Station creates a relaxing atmosphere on the platform by adding IKEA armchairs, allowing passengers to enjoy a more pleasant wait.
Targeting office workers and families, Nanjing Fuxing Station has set up a playful space for parent-child interaction in the transfer corridor. The waiting area is infused with a relaxed vibe using vibrant color blocks and features multiple IKEA armchairs. In the middle of the platform, a giant book and bookshelf have been designed. Additionally, the transfer corridor at Nanjing Fuxing Station includes fun floor decals of popular IKEA plush toys, giving passengers a little surprise.
While transferring at Nanjing Fuxing Station, you can take a short break and read children’s books with your kids, adding a touch of playfulness to your busy day.
Qizhang Station, located in a rapidly developing residential area, draws inspiration from the popular natural-style home decor trend. Next to the ticket gates, outdoor furniture and plenty of greenery create a lush oasis. The station plaza features a cozy living room-style space, using natural materials like pine wood and rattan products to craft a refreshing urban green retreat, making your commute home feel more like a mini vacation.
Qizhang Station offers decoration inspiration for a home balcony space, using an abundance of greenery to create a refreshing oasis.
