May 23rd is the 61st anniversary of the peaceful liberation of Tibet. Accompanied by the heavenly sounds of beautiful Tibetan ethnic songs and dances, the press conference for "A Date with Shannan" — the 2012 China Tibet Yarlung Culture Festival was grandly held in the Beijing Hall of the Great Hall of the People, marking the official opening of the 2012 China Tibet Yarlung Culture Festival.
The 2012 China Tibet Yarlung Culture Festival, under the support and guidance of the Publicity Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region Party Committee, the Department of Culture, and the Tourism Bureau, and with strong assistance from the Tibet Aid Offices of Hunan, Hubei, and Anhui provinces, is jointly organized by the CPC Shannan Prefectural Committee and the Shannan Prefectural People's Government of Tibet. It is co-hosted by the Shannan Prefectural Bureau of Culture, the Bureau of Tourism, various counties in the region, and Beijing Saidian Culture Communication Center. The festival aims to build a cultural tourism brand themed around "The Source of Tibet · The Connection with Tibet," presenting a grand cultural, tourism, and economic feast that combines artistic performances, cultural exchanges, tourism, and economic cooperation, showcasing the long and splendid traditional culture of the Tibetan people to the world.
