Competition Rules and Scoring Criteria
1. The preliminary stage adopts a single-start format,Departure orderBy participantsThe on-the-day check-in orderDetermines.
2.Gates are set up along the course to form obstacles. Participants start from the starting point and continuously turn along the courseto navigate around the gates, then cross the finish line to complete the race.
3.Touching a gate while skiing does not constitute a foul, but missing a gate or riding over the pole counts as a foul and results in disqualification.
4.The competition uses electronic timing, and each participantmay ski only once,with top-rankedparticipants advancing to the second round (final round).
5.Giant slalom events for alpine skis/and snowboards have final rankings determined by all valid results, with the shortest time ranking highest.
Competition format
1.Competition rules: Based on the “(China) Elite Ski League-Competition Regulations”, with reference to the latest edition of the “FIS Alpine and Snowboard Competition and Judging Rules” approved by the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China;
2.Scoring rules: Based on the “(China) Elite Ski League-Points, Advancement and Grouping Rules”;
3.Alpine skis: No clothing restrictions for any category; alpine skis: No equipment restrictions for any category; snowboards: No competition suits allowed in any category (no speed or downhill event attire permitted); snowboards: Hard boots not allowed in amateur and elite groups, no restrictions in open group; for both alpine and snowboard events, no participant may obstruct the front or back of their bib number in any way—numbers must be clearly visible to course judges to facilitate competitor identification, otherwise it will be considered a foul and result in disqualification;
4.1Star,2star events follow a first-come, first-served principle;3Star and above events use registration order to determine the starting sequence for the preliminary round; adult group starting order: amateur group-, elite group-, open group, with women starting before men;
5.The first round starting order is based on registration sequence, and participants advancing to the second round (final round) will start in reverse order of their first-round results; participants not advancing to the second round (final round) will not compete in the second round;
6.On the giant slalom timed snowboard race day, snowboard gates are set and snowboarding takes place; on the alpine ski race day, alpine gates are set and alpine skiing takes place;
7.In the giant slalom timed competition, the women’s group starts before the men’s group.
8.During the competition, all participants in each category will ski on the same course, and no gates may be skipped during the run.
This eventAdult group categories
The adult group is divided into:Public group, Elite group, and Open group(formerly Masters group), making three skill-level categories.
The competition is currently not open to active professional alpine skiing athletes registered with the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China;
Public group:Ski enthusiasts (Chinese nationals(including those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan)) may directly enter the Public group;
Former professional alpine skiing athletes (retired for at least10 years) who were previously registered with the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, as well as instructors (no longer engaged in teaching for at least10 years) registered with ski resort training institutions, may choose to enter the Public group after identity verification, but cannot opt for the Open group in subsequent competitions;
Elite group:Participants are determined based on the grouping rules of the (China) Elite Ski League points system;
Open group (formerly Masters group):
a. Ski enthusiasts (Chinese nationals(including those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan)) may voluntarily choose to enter the Open group. Once entered, they cannot join (or return to) the Public group or Elite group in subsequent competitions;
Former professional alpine skiing athletes (retired for less than
b. years) who were previously registered with the Winter Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, as well as instructors (currently employed or not engaged in teaching for less than10 years) registered with ski resort training institutions, may enter the Open group after identity verification (if not verified, entering the Public group will result in disqualification and invalidation of competition results upon investigation);10 once the above retired athletes and instructors have been retired for at least10 years or have not been engaged in teaching for at least10 years, they may choose to enter the Public group, but cannot opt for the Open group in subsequent competitions;
c. All foreign participants (non-Chinese nationals, any profession) will enter the Open group.
“2019-2020(China) Elite Ski League――Gaodeyun Cup Ski Challenge”has been included inCSSFCompetition points system.2019-2020The results of all races in the (China) Elite Ski League will be converted into points (including one-star weekday races, two-star weekly races, three-star monthly races, and four-star annual finals). Points are a key criterion for group advancement — whether you’ll compete in the public group or the elite group next time, and whether you’ll end up returning gear or receiving prize money, it’s all determined by points.
