From September 12 to October 15, 2012, under the full sponsorship of SympaTex and JEEP XP, over 30 outdoor enthusiasts, led by the Tibet Off-Road Forum, completed the "Sixth Season Great Tibetan Crossing" event.
The gathering point was Xining in Qinghai. The team entered Tibet via the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, arrived in Lhasa, and then drove clockwise along the Ali Loop, passing Yamdrok Lake and Gyantse Dzong on the way to Everest Base Camp. From there, they headed west to explore the magical Tsada Clay Forest and the ancient Guge Kingdom. They performed a sacred kora ritual at Mount Kailash, then crossed the uninhabited northern Tibet region from Shiquanhe eastward, speeding through the vast and lonely landscape alongside wild asses and Tibetan antelopes. After returning to Lhasa from Namtso Lake, they exited Tibet via the Sichuan-Tibet Highway and completed the entire journey in Chengdu.
