The number of submitted proposals continues to grow, and the competition is becoming increasingly fierce. With the announcement of the February monthly champion, some participants, under the guidance of the “mentor team,” have taken another step closer to their dreams.
The 7th Gore-Tex?Outdoor Dreams Realization Campaign – February Monthly Champion

“Unclimbed peaks are not scary. Be brave and chase your dreams while you’re young – persistence will surely lead to success.” This was the judges’ comment on the February monthly champion proposal in the Professional Mountaineering category: “Gongga Unclimbed Peak 5720 Northeast Ridge Climbing Plan.” In August 2012, the applicant attempted to climb Nama Peak on the southern side of the mountain, conducting preliminary reconnaissance of the terrain and climbing route. With no prior climbing records and a lack of valuable experience to reference, the applicant’s attempt and perseverance moved the judges, bringing them one step closer to realizing their dream.
The monthly champion proposal in the Wilderness Trekking category, “Walking for Dreams – Crossing the Central Tianshan Mountains,” combined outdoor adventure with public welfare, focusing on ecological protection and the lives of herders, while documenting glaciers, ice lines, river basins, wildlife, and living environments, thereby drawing significant attention and mentor approval. Hiking, mountaineering, cycling; camping, diving, sea fishing – the variety of travel methods and rich activity content stood out. The proposal “Crossing the Central Minshan Range – Conquering Three 100-Peak Mountains in a Row, Panoramic East Coast – Outdoor Living,” though not a long route, encompassed elements of culture, geography, history, and more, winning the monthly championship in the Outdoor Hiking category.
The monthly champion proposal in the Outdoor Photography category, “Traveling and Shooting Along the Ancient Cheshi Road, Experiencing Silk Culture,” chose Xinjiang as its location. The applicant hoped to follow historical footsteps across this forgotten ancient Silk Road over the Tianshan Mountains, using their lens to record the old road and fulfill their dream. The monthly champion proposal in the Outdoor Self-Drive category, “8 Days in Northern Xinjiang,” selected one of China’s most pristine regions, planning to drive off-road vehicles across the vast wilderness that covers one-sixth of China’s land area.
Exciting Highlights from the February Monthly Champion Route of the International Routes Category
The newly added International Routes category in this campaign offers outdoor enthusiasts new inspiration. The monthly champion proposal, “The Fall of an Empire, The Glory of Yesterday – A Tour of Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary,” plans to take in pristine architectural ruins, soak in the rich atmosphere of the Renaissance in its streets and alleys, admire lakeside towns and residential castles, and experience the collision and fusion of ancient and modern urban cultures. The route features tightly arranged attractions and a well-paced itinerary, measuring the tracks of the Austro-Hungarian Empire’s glorious past, full of historical significance.
Alongside the monthly champion of the main site, seven sub-site monthly champions were also announced, with a total of 49 monthly champions born this month. The main site monthly champion will receive support in the form of a Gore-Tex fabric jacket or shoes provided by Gore partner brands KOLON SPORT, OZARK GEAR (Osark), TOREAD?(Toread), BLACK YAK?(Black Yak), and NORTHLAND (Northland).?The monthly champions of the seven sub-sites will receive support in the form of a Gore-Tex fabric jacket or shoes provided by Lafuma?, HAGLOFS, MERRELL, SALEWA, LOWA, and NORTHLAND (Northland).? Proposal submissions for this campaign will close at the end of May, with a total of 240 monthly champions to be selected (30 from the main site and 210 from sub-sites), as well as six annual champion teams. The annual champion teams will receive travel funding support from Gore and a full set of Gore-Tex?outdoor gear provided by its partners.
