Grandparents' Day on August 29: Get a free caricature at local cultural museums in Changhua

Every year, the last Sunday of August is designated as Grandparents’ Day. This day was established by the Ministry of Education to raise awareness about family bonds and filial piety, and to strengthen relationships between grandparents and grandchildren. This year, Grandparents’ Day falls on August 29.

The “Grandparents and Grandkids Q-Caricature Tour” event encourages grandparents and grandchildren to visit various local cultural museums in Changhua together to explore different cultural experiences. These include the Cultural Affairs Bureau of Changhua County, Fuxing Granary, Yuanlin Performing Arts Center, Museum of Traditional Music and Theater, Lukang Town History Museum, Erlin Cultural Activity Center, Yuanlin Art Museum, Puyan Township Library, Puxin Township Performing Arts Hall, Guyue Folk Museum in Changhua City, Changhua Art Museum, Luoshui Snail Creek Stone Art Museum, Wanggong Oyster Art Culture Museum, Xihu Wu Family Dough Figurine Museum, Lai Ho Memorial Hall, Changhua City Library, Xihu Art and Culture Center, Yongjing Township Dingxin Township Folk Art Gallery, Buddha’s Light Affinity Art Museum Changhua Branch, Taiwan Soka Association Xiushui Art and Culture Center, among a total of 20 venues.

From August 23 to August 29, grandparents and grandchildren who visit any of the cultural museums and take a joint photo can email the photo to prshian@mail.bocach.gov.tw before September 15 to receive a special 16-page “Q-version caricature” drawn by a street artist. There are 100 caricatures available, while supplies last.
