Hsinchu County: Five hikers from Taipei County — Tseng Tang-yin and four others — set out together on the seventh to climb Bird’s Beak Mountain in the Maowudu area of Guanxi. They got lost while following rope markers left by previous hikers.
New Taipei County Police Precinct received a report earlier that afternoon, deployed over twenty police officers, volunteer firefighters, and rescuers into the mountains, and after ten hours of searching, finally located the group and escorted them down the mountain.
