Directed by Chinese-American filmmaker Arvin Chen, the Taiwanese film "Au Revoir Taipei" successfully showcases Taipei in a unique light. But what does Taipei really look like in your mind? To encourage public participation in city activities and integrate design concepts and thinking into everyday life, Taipei City is hosting the introductory event of Design Month — the “Taipei Creative Spots” Photography Competition. Online registration is open from now until September 20.
To position Taipei as an international design capital, the Taipei City Government’s Department of Economic Development commissioned the Taiwan Design Center to implement the “Taipei City Creative and Design Industry Development Plan.” Through six major series of activities — including the “Taipei Design Capital Workshop,” “Selection of Benchmark Demonstration Products or Services,” “Taipei Design Month,” “Taipei Industrial Design Award,” “Shaping Characteristic Industry Clusters,” and “Business Opportunity Matching” — the plan injects both hardware and software momentum for design and innovation into the city.
