As kids step into a new semester and a new grade, facing a series of schoolwork, they can also try a different approach to learning. The Agri-Tourism Network has launched a “Learn While Having Fun” seasonal special feature. Parents and teachers can take children on nature and eco-tours through the concept of learning through play, allowing them to experience the outdoors firsthand and making learning both relaxing and fun.

The “Learn While Having Fun” feature recommends nearly 300 attractions. “Field Experiences” compiles 152 farms across Taiwan with outdoor teaching experience. “Outdoor Classrooms” detail 72 soil and water conservation nature classrooms and ecological parks across Taiwan, plus 63 industry culture museums in the “Fun Knowledge Hall.” In addition, there are 17 “Happy Travel Tours” itineraries that can be easily downloaded for planning, ready to go whenever you want to experience them.
For example, “Pinglin Leisure Farm” in Shuangxi, northern Taiwan, offers plant and insect observation as well as various DIY experiences. Taichung’s “Jiuda Eco-Education Leisure Sheep Farm” allows close encounters with sheep and a rare chance to try milking goats. Yilan’s “Toucheng Farm” features vegetable and fruit areas, an animal zone, and a rice culture area where visitors can experience the joy of transplanting rice seedlings, giving both adults and children the deepest possible exposure to rural life and learning outdoor knowledge not found in textbooks.
