Merida stated that the “29-inch super bike” offers better obstacle clearance than traditional 26-inch models and also features advantages such as superior climbing grip and comfort, gradually gaining favor in the market. But Merida particularly emphasized that this newly launched carbon fiber 29-inch “Big Nine Team Edition” (BIG NINE CARBON TEAM) is not just a simple increase in wheel size — it involves the integration of many professional design details.
Merida already owns the world’s best 26-inch mountain bike, the “0.Nine” (0.9). The upcoming 29-inch “Big Nine Team Edition” (BIG NINE CARBON TEAM) for the new year offers a 20% increase in BB bottom bracket stiffness over the “0.9,” while also inheriting all the strengths of the “0.Nine,” such as “Nano Matrix Carbon,” “Dual Channel Technology” (DCT), “Flex Stay,” and asymmetric chainstays. Other specifications include the SRAM 2X10 drivetrain, PRC ultra-light components, and an epoch-making, ultra-light (150g) yet comfortable seatpost unit.
