Yesterday, Taishin Financial Holding released a press statement and material information indicating that, as confirmed by rescue authorities, Lin Kexiao, General Manager of Taishin Financial, unfortunately passed away in a mountain-climbing accident involving a fall off a cliff. After the incident, the situation was reported to the Financial Supervisory Commission. The appointment of a new General Manager will be discussed at a future board meeting. Company operations remain normal, and Chief Financial Officer Lin Weijun will assume the role of future spokesperson.
Rescue authorities confirmed yesterday afternoon that Lin Kexiao had been deceased for some time. Taishin Financial Holding stated that all colleagues were deeply shocked and saddened. Chairman Ng Dongliang and executives at all levels have visited the Lin family to express condolences and assist with follow-up matters.
Taishin Financial Holding pointed out that the appointment of the financial holding company’s General Manager will be discussed at a future board meeting. Currently, the management team remains at their posts, and company operations continue unaffected.
Taishin Financial Holding said that Lin Kexiao was humble and courteous, treating employees with kindness and always being considerate of their hard work, earning him the love and support of his colleagues. Lin Kexiao also had a passion for humanities and arts, loved mountain climbing, and was an economist with both scholarly and physical prowess.
Lin Kexiao, who possessed rich literary talent, also published the book “Finding the Path: Moonlight, Shayun, and Klesan,” which described his mountain-climbing experiences and stories with indigenous peoples. He often trekked through many untraveled wilderness mountains with a machete in hand, experiencing Taiwan’s history and local customs along ancient trails. This romantic passion and unique personal charm infused Taishin Financial Holding with an artistic atmosphere, making it more vibrant and dynamic.
In 1996, Lin Kexiao was elected one of the “First Top Ten Outstanding Securities and Futures Talents.” In 2000, he successfully led the restructuring of Tung Lung Hardware Company. Starting in 2007, he served as General Manager of the financial holding company and concurrently as Chief Economist, guiding the management team through the financial crisis and successfully turning Taishin Financial from losses to profits.
Yesterday, Taishin Financial Chairman Ng Dongliang sent an email letter to employees, solemnly announcing the unfortunate passing of Lin Kexiao due to a mountain-climbing accident. Ng Dongliang said he would quote a new poem by Lin Kexiao: “I just want to tell you these anecdotes / because / long-standing casual remembrance / quietly turns into earnestness,” to express his sincere condolences.
Ng Dongliang pointed out: “Now, his final journey was also taken on the mountain. His sudden farewell to us is deeply heartbreaking. He was like family to us, and his unexpected passing fills us with immense sorrow!”
