A junior high school teacher, Ye Naijing, recently entered the mountains to hike the Holy Ridge Line but went missing after Typhoon Saola struck. Rescue personnel launched land and air search and rescue efforts and managed to reach her on the fourth day at the Qijia Bay Stream above the Shanliu Mountain Lodge No. 369 in Taichung’s Snow Mountain area. She descended the mountain yesterday together with the rescuers. The public questioned how she had encountered typhoons twice during her hikes, prompting large-scale rescue mobilization. Ye Naijing stated that she was safe in the mountains and unaware that rescuers had gone up the mountain again to save her. Furthermore, she said the weather was fine when she entered the mountains and that she had no knowledge of the typhoon.
