A hiker surnamed Huang was injured after falling into a valley around noon while hiking in Taroko National Park. He fell at “Kalou Cliff.” The Hualien County Fire Bureau received the report and alerted the National Search and Rescue Center as well as the Nantou County Fire Bureau. By 2 p.m., the man was rescued by a HOVER helicopter via hoist operation. He was conscious upon rescue and was sent to a local hospital in Chiayi for treatment.
