A married couple surnamed Ou have been missing for several days while climbing Mt. Dabajian, and Hsinchu County Government Fire Bureau is deploying a helicopter this afternoon to search for them in the mountains.
The Chinese Taipei Mountain Rescue Association stated today that the Ous checked into Xinda Mountain Hut on the 25th and entered the trailhead at Chiyu Mountain on November 29. The couple planned to climb Mt. Dabajian and were expected to descend on November 30, but they have not been in contact with their family since.
The family informed the Chinese Taipei Mountain Rescue Association that they had asked police in the Shei-Pa Mountain area to search for the couple’s vehicle at Wuling Farm on December 3, but it was not found. On December 4, they requested assistance from Hsinchu County police and fire bureau, and the police have since located the vehicle.
Hsinchu County Government Fire Bureau said it will dispatch a helicopter at 2:30 p.m. carrying four rescue team members to search the 3050 highland area of the Mt. Dabajian massif. 1021205
