The Taichung City Fire Bureau stated that the male hiker surnamed Chen and the female hiker surnamed Zhang went missing during their climb in the snowy mountains. After receiving a report at 00:20 on January 1, a large number of rescue personnel were dispatched to search the mountain, and good news came this afternoon.
The fire bureau said that the fifth batch of rescuers found the two missing hikers at the 369 Mountain Hut at 2:12 p.m. After verification by squad leader Yang Chunchang, their identities were confirmed, and both are in fairly good condition. However, due to days of trekking and physical exhaustion, the two will stay overnight at the 369 Mountain Hut to rest and will be escorted down the mountain tomorrow.
