A 53-year-old man surnamed Chen from New Taipei City went hiking alone in Shifenliao, Pingxi District, a few days ago and lost contact. The fire department deployed dozens of police, volunteer firefighters, and rescuers to search for him. After two days of an extensive ground search, Chen was found in the mountains at around 11 a.m. today. Although he was still conscious, his physical strength was severely depleted. Rescue personnel helped him down the mountain and sent him to the hospital for observation and treatment.
