An elderly man, around 80 years old, went hiking in the Quchi Mountain area of Xindian with friends on the 17th but got lost and went missing. His companions went down the mountain to report the incident and seek help. Police and firefighters located the man on the afternoon of the 18th, but he had been dead for some time. The exact cause of death is still pending further examination by the prosecutor's office.
