As early summer arrives, the firefly season in Alishan is just around the corner. The “2011 New Impression of Alishan — Stars Meet Fireflies, Light Reborn — Dancing with Fireflies” event will take place from April 2 to June 30. To celebrate this annual firefly-watching season, a special travel package is being offered, featuring accommodation, meals, and guided tours for as low as NT$999 per person on weekdays. The opening ceremony of “Dancing with Fireflies” kicked off on April 2, with the Firefly Season inauguration held in Lijia Community that day, featuring a “Firefly Release” activity. On April 14, a traditional Firefly Wedding Performance will be held in Guanghua Community, showcasing rare cultural performances by students from Guanghua Elementary School and local community moms. Additionally, to promote the protection of fireflies and sustainable ecology, a volunteer conservation activity will be organized on April 21 in Ruili Community, where participants can work together to preserve firefly habitats and create the best living environment for them.

To complement the firefly-watching activities, homestays in Lijia, Guanghua, and Ruili are offering three great weekday deals priced at NT$999, NT$1499, and NT$1999 respectively.
