Datian Precision Co., Ltd. (stock code: 8924) has once again been honored with the 2017 Taiwan Excellence Award for its “Hardman HT XC ELITE.” The Datian bicycle brand VOLANDO, together with the Kaohsiung Linyuan High School Mountain Bike Team, organized a “Mountain Bike Training Camp” on March 18–19 to help more outdoor enthusiasts master the fundamental skills of mountain biking.
Datian’s Chairman Li Kong-wen stated that the “Hardman HT XC ELITE” is designed for cross-country (XC) mountain bike racing. It is lightweight, shock-absorbing, and stable, offering riders excellent acceleration and a nimble yet steady handling experience on the track. For a long time, Taiwan’s bicycle industry has focused on exports, and mountain biking remains a niche sport in Taiwan. Through this event, participants can confidently tackle obstacles encountered on forest trails.
The core off-road cycling skills camp, planned and led by national team coach Huang Jin-long, breaks down all mountain biking movements on forest trails into three key techniques: body positioning, braking control, and obstacle overcoming. It imparts the exclusive skills of national team athletes to participants. The training helps riders learn and review forest trail riding techniques while systematically upgrading their riding skills.
Datian Precision Co., Ltd. established the bicycle brand VOLANDO in 2009, focusing primarily on high-end carbon fiber bicycles, with sales mainly in the Taiwanese market. In the early stages of the brand, an enterprise cycling team was formed to promote professional cycling, and since 2012, the company has begun sponsoring the Chinese Taipei Cycling Team.
The current collaboration with the Chinese Taipei Cycling Team is part of the mid-term phase of the overall sponsorship plan. In addition to maintaining operational support for the team through sponsorship funding, the company has started providing specialized bikes for young riders to compete. This year, six outstanding mountain bike athletes from Linyuan High School will ride the “Hardman HT XC ELITE” to represent Taiwan in competitions across Asia.
In the future, as VOLANDO’s product range becomes more diverse and through its support of the Chinese Taipei Cycling Team, the brand will engage in more interaction and collaboration with elite riders.
