On July 17, 2013, the KOLON SPORT 2013 Autumn/Winter Media Preview, themed “2023,” opened in Beijing’s 798 Art District, a space brimming with fashion and cutting-edge art, ushering in a new era for the brand.

Upholding the philosophy of “Your Best Way to Nature,” KOLON SPORT used this 2013 Autumn/Winter Media Preview to blend visionary creativity with deep respect for the brand’s heritage. With the theme “2023,” the brand boldly imagined how outdoor apparel might evolve over the next decade, merging fashion design with cutting-edge outdoor technology to present a uniquely futuristic outdoor fashion experience for attendees.
For the 2013 Autumn/Winter season, KOLON SPORT took on the challenge of the future through advanced technology and premium craftsmanship. In addition to using functional fabrics such as Gore-Tex and Schoeller, the brand also applied technological treatments to traditional materials like wool and cotton, preserving their natural textures while enhancing them with technical performance—resulting in products distinctly different from conventional outdoor gear. Moreover, the Wind Turbine, a new product that encapsulates the essence of KOLON SPORT’s design and R&D, and an upgraded version of the Life Tech line, made its debut at this Autumn/Winter Media Preview, once again showcasing the power of outdoor technology.
The futuristic essence of the KOLON SPORT 2013 Autumn/Winter collection was vividly reflected in this media preview. Lighting and dramatic beams transformed the exhibition hall into an urban street. Hubot (Human + Robot) models, whose designs were inspired by the film *A Clockwork Orange*, were displayed throughout the venue, resembling pedestrians in a bustling future metropolis. The fusion of technological futurism and stylish retro elements presented the future of outdoor apparel, the city, and our lives in an elegant yet novel way.
The KOLON SPORT 2013 Autumn/Winter Media Preview also attracted numerous distinguished guests. Notable attendees included Mr. Liu Xiping, Chairman of DARES Consulting and renowned as China’s “Number One Professional Manager” in public relations, famous for his appearance on China Education Television’s *Career to Career* show, as well as the talented emerging artist Jiang Ji’an, who created art live at the event, adding extra sparkle to the preview.

As a leader in outdoor fashion, KOLON SPORT will continue to focus on technological innovation, producing cutting-edge outdoor products that not only meet the demands of China’s outdoor market but also succeed in urban style and fashion. The brand will keep delivering a design philosophy that combines modern aesthetics with outdoor technology, continuing to lead the new wave of outdoor fashion.

2013 FW Collection
The 2013 Autumn/Winter collection displayed by KOLON SPORT reveals new inspirations for the future of the outdoors: the ALPES theme, which caters to both expedition adventures and leisure needs; the ARTECO and POP ART themes, inspired by New York, the capital of fashion and art; and the COSMOS theme, which transcends Earth’s boundaries and challenges the concept of cosmic space... The KOLON SPORT 2013 Autumn/Winter series showcases upgraded styles and functions, revealing the future direction of outdoor apparel.

From outdoor to leisure, the ALPES theme

This season, KOLON SPORT builds on the ANTARCTICA theme, which represents expeditions and exploration, and reintroduces the ALPES theme—offering both outdoor functionality and leisure appeal.
The ALPES theme draws inspiration from the Alps, a destination for diverse outdoor activities such as skiing and climbing, as well as a cozy place to enjoy winter life. It presents various ways to connect with nature in a fashionable manner. The modern reinterpretation of Antarctic snowflake patterns and V-neck designs highlights the ALPES style, while the use of white with monochrome blends and vibrant primary colors like red, blue, and yellow vividly expresses a technologically advanced outdoor aesthetic. From hiking to travel collections, KOLON SPORT showcases the simplest yet most authentic styles of outdoor apparel.

Preview of the future of outdoor fashion, COSMOS

Each season, KOLON SPORT interprets the future of outdoor fashion with new styles. For the 2013 Autumn/Winter season, the brand drew inspiration from the cosmos to introduce outdoor apparel with deeper meaning.
With the COSMOS theme, KOLON SPORT channels the spirit and style of future outdoor living, employing bold cuts in both loose and fitted silhouettes. These designs showcase high-end detail while emphasizing a strong futuristic vibe with metallic fabrics.

Mix & Match of geometric lines and functional materials, ART DECO

The ART DECO theme, inspired by New York—the birthplace of fashion trends and a dreamlike metropolis—breaks free from the confines of nature to showcase the urban side of the outdoors.
Drawing inspiration from New York’s ART DECO architecture and its skyline of towering skyscrapers, the ART DECO theme uses architectural shapes and geometric lines to visualize the city’s skyscrapers. The color palette, based on blue and orange, along with dynamic cuts, defines the theme.

Reinterpretation of sensory colors, POP ART

KOLON SPORT has always emphasized detail enhancement and the reimagining of functional fabrics each season. For the 2013 Autumn/Winter collection, the brand uses POP ART to express bright, vivid colors. By combining rarely used outdoor hues like bright yellow, orange, and purple, and pairing them with sharp, clean cuts, the collection perfectly captures the essence of New York’s POP ART scene.
