The health bureaus of Taipei and New Taipei cities recommended a total of 20 trails in both municipalities on the 10th to host the “Hand in Hand Across Taipei and New Taipei: Parent-Child Hiking Mobilization” event. Participants who collect stamps from five out of the 20 trails can exchange them for a participation prize at the Guandu–Bali Hiking Relay event on October 23.
Taipei City Health Bureau Director Lin Chi-hung said that the natural terrain of Taipei and New Taipei has created many scenic trails. This event not only encourages healthy walking habits among residents but also promotes interaction between the two cities. Citizens can use their holidays to enjoy the natural beauty of Greater Taipei, experience the charm of the twin cities, and create lasting memories together.
New Taipei City Deputy Health Bureau Director Lin Chin-fu stated that the “Hand in Hand Across Taipei and New Taipei: Parent-Child Hiking Mobilization” event has carefully selected 20 parent-child-friendly hiking routes in both cities for participants to collect stamps and has issued 20,000 hiking passports available for free collection.
The recommended mountain trails are categorized into family-friendly, hiker, and advanced levels. Each city has introduced ten parent-child suitable routes. For example, Taipei City’s Tianshan Ancient Trail, a parent-child friendly mountain trail, has an elevation of only 300 meters but features diverse ecological environments including tropical, subtropical, and warm temperate broadleaf forests. The Xiangshan Parent-Child Trail offers panoramic views of the Taipei Basin. In New Taipei City, the Gongliao Caoling Historic Trail is lush with greenery and shrouded in mountain mist, while the Sanxia Yuan Mountain Hiking Trail features a hilltop resembling a soaring kite, providing a vast and breathtaking view from the summit.
