For those who love challenging hikes and getting close to nature, there is a uniquely special wild stream ecological trail within the Tayal Resort in Guoxing Township. Here, you can hike amidst diverse lush greenery and the sounds of insects and birds, breathing in phytoncides, while admiring cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, metasequoias, and thousands of native plant species. The area boasts rich ecological resources, along with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and vistas overlooking the Seediq Chunan Island Tribe — a truly breathtaking sight.
On the Tayal Wild Stream Ecological Trail, you may also encounter monkeys, Formosan serows, wild boars, and flying squirrels coming up to say hello. Starting from April each year, the trail becomes a hotspot for fireflies, offering visitors a chance to witness the ecology of these magical insects and the wonders of nature.
Li Jitian, General Manager of the Tayal Resort, revealed that the wild stream ecological trail passes by a statue of the Water-Dripping Guanyin. This statue was established in 1995 by Master Wei Chueh, who personally selected the site. During the construction process, the master visited the site multiple times for inspections. The landscaping and layout around the Guanyin Lane were also designed by him, and in 1996, he personally presided over the consecration and purification ceremony.
The wild stream trail ultimately leads to the 500-meter-high Skywalk, where visitors can experience the thrill of walking on transparent reinforced glass while overlooking the heights. You can also enjoy the beautiful layered mountain scenery and gaze at the panoramic view of the historic Chunan Island Qingliu Tribe. Imprint these stunning sights in your memory, and after the exhilarating Skywalk experience, you can also visit the renowned Tayal Sedeq Story Museum. Within its 100-meter-long tunnel, the complete history of the Seediq people is presented, allowing you to immerse yourself in their culture.
When you feel tired, you can also head to the resort’s famous Tayal Hot Spring, the only one in Guoxing, Nantou, that holds an official hot spring certification. With its sodium bicarbonate mineral water, it helps you fully relax and recharge.
