The Chiayi County Fire Bureau received a report at 4:15 a.m. today stating that a hiker surnamed Liu had accidentally fallen 20 to 30 meters down a slope at the 3-kilometer point of the Yushan National Park hiking trail in Alishan Township, and was in critical condition. Rescue personnel were dispatched, and the injured hiker was successfully brought to flat ground by 7:06 a.m. He was then transported to Xianglin Health Center for treatment at 10:15 a.m.
The Chiayi County Fire Bureau stated that the injured, Mr. Liu (50 years old), along with two friends, had gone hiking in Yushan National Park in Alishan Township early this morning. At the 3-kilometer point of the Yushan hiking trail, he accidentally fell 20 to 30 meters down a slope, prompting his friends to call for help. Rescue workers descended the steep slope and eventually managed to rescue him. Initial assessments showed he was conscious with a roughly 3-centimeter laceration on the head. He was sent to Xianglin Health Center by ambulance for medical attention.
