This event marked the first collaboration between Sanfo Outdoor and the Asia Outdoor Exhibition to organize a mountain trail running competition. It attracted many exhibitors and visitors from across the country, as well as numerous local outdoor enthusiasts from Nanjing, who braved38degrees of high temperature to bring the energy of the exhibition to the Purple Mountain Central Stadium.
The 8th Asia Outdoor Exhibition has successfully become a barometer of China’s outdoor industry.22countries and regions,610exhibitors gathered in Nanjing. To better promote the exhibition and increase interaction, the organizers, together with Sanfo Outdoor — currently the largest professional outdoor retail channel in China — co-hosted this “Liangshan Heroes Mountain Running Race,” adding a new highlight to the exhibition while using the event to embody the spirit of the outdoor industry.
360Liangshan Heroes Gather at Zhongshan Take outdoor sports to the limit
These are people who love to measure the earth with their own two feet. The beautiful Purple Mountain Central Sports Park welcomed the Liangshan Heroes Mountain Running Race during the hot summer season. While many regions and cities across the country were setting new records for century-high temperatures, simply signing up was an act of heroism — not to mention tackling13kmkilometers of mountain trails and ascending over300meters in elevation. Even so,360heroes from all over the country gathered to run together on the beautiful Purple Mountain. The starry night sky, the lights from the city below weaving a Milky Way, and the fireflies dancing in the woods were like little decorative lights hung especially for the race, reflecting the excited, sweat-drenched smiles of the runners. Everyone encouraged and cheered each other on, showcasing the unique human charm of outdoor sports events. In them, we saw more of “sports, joy, dreams, friendship, mutual aid, perseverance, and endurance.” From12-year-old children to67People in their 30s, from office workers to fresh university students, from petite girls to well-built youths, all enjoy the joy of sports in their own ways. Whether it’s tiring or painful, it’s ultimately all worth it. This unique experience will surely become one of the most unforgettable memories in everyone’s life.
Detailed guidance Good order made the race feel more like a gathering
Many people love outdoor sports because of the unique atmosphere among outdoor enthusiasts—there’s always a smile on their faces, they’re considerate and orderly toward each other, they love nature and care for family and friends. Though they may not know each other, once they gather, they become one big, happy family. The author could fully sense these unique charms upon arriving at the race site: unfamiliar brothers offered all kinds of technical advice on summer running, volunteers greeted everyone under the sun, directing them where to check in and store belongings, and strangers willingly helped take photos. Everyone had smiles on their faces, and the warmth among people made even the scorching sun feel gentler. By early afternoon, it had quietly hidden behind thin clouds, and a breeze sprang up, creating perfect weather conditions for the runners.6o’clock
During the most challenging part of the race—the continuous uphill climb—the author almost wanted to give up, slowing down both speed and stride. Many unfamiliar runners who passed by either asked if help was needed or offered words of encouragement, filling the race with a family-like warmth.
As it was a night run, reflective road signs were visible almost everywhere along the route, and staff members reminded participants to stay safe at major intersections. There was almost no litter on the course. Even tourists who had come up the mountain to see fireflies would stop to cheer on the runners.
2014There will surely be more to look forward to
Happy gatherings are always short-lived. At the finish line, many runners who had completed the race gathered like old friends, sharing and exchanging their experiences amid bursts of laughter. The deep night could not dim the strong warmth among people. It is believed that2014this summer, even more people with shared interests will come together.
