Here are six nature-themed spots where you can take stunning photos and enjoy a healing weekend getaway.

The cluster of brownish-orange bald cypresses creates a scene so enchanting it feels like you’re in a romantic foreign land. The Zhongpu Bald Cypress Grove has long been one of the most popular hidden cypress spots in Chiayi. Now that it’s gradually entering cypress season, travelers should seize the chance to admire this magical view.

Between Sections 2 and 3 of Shixian Road in Chiayi City, the median strips are planted with over a thousand large-leaved mahogany trees. Usually shaded by lush greenery, they create a fantastical atmosphere. In spring and summer, when a carpet of fallen leaves covers the sidewalks, it evokes the beauty of autumn. Coupled with the road’s extended depth of field spanning hundreds of meters, it has become a unique photography spot for enthusiasts.

Dingshihao, located on Alishan, is a great spot for night photography. With its high altitude and proximity to the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, it is one of Taiwan’s most beautiful hidden gems. The “glass-like light” is created when artificial lights refract through the clouds and mist, producing a translucent, iridescent glow reminiscent of glass. Paired with cascading clouds and the Milky Way, it gives the illusion of being in a heavenly paradise.

The sunset in Dongshi, Chiayi, is famously beautiful. The fishing harbor, setting sun, and sea come together to form a moving landscape. Due to seasonal and weather changes, the scenery varies daily.
