Ride the iconic tram through Hong Kong, admire the stunning night views from Victoria Peak, sample delicious dim sum in every alley, and discover the wonders of its unique ecology and nature. As autumn arrives, it's the perfect time to travel. Known as the “Asia’s World City,” Hong Kong is one of the most popular destinations for Taiwanese travelers, offering a rich cultural tapestry shaped by its blend of Eastern and Western influences. This year, the Hong Kong Tourism Board has reimagined the city’s unique charm, launching a new brand concept: “Best of all, It’s in Hong Kong.” Featuring four themed campaigns, each led by celebrities, the initiative highlights fashion, food, family travel, and nature—inviting visitors to follow in the footsteps of locals and uncover the most authentic and memorable experiences Hong Kong has to offer.
Taiwan is the second-largest market for Hong Kong tourism. The Hong Kong Tourism Board has always been committed to promoting overnight stays. As of September 2016, there were approximately 1.5 million Taiwanese visitors to Hong Kong, including around 660,000 overnight stays, marking a 7.7% increase. To promote Hong Kong tourism, Chef Chan Yan-tak, the first Chinese chef to receive three Michelin stars and Executive Chinese Chef at Four Seasons Hotel, was invited to Taiwan to promote Hong Kong cuisine. He will also officiate the opening of the Hong Kong Pavilion at the Taipei International Travel Fair, inviting Taiwanese travelers to embark on an unforgettable “Best of all, It’s in Hong Kong” experience.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board has produced four captivating themed videos, covering fashion, food, family travel, and cultural landscapes. The fashion-themed video specially features up-and-coming Hong Kong fashion designers scouting for style inspiration across the city—from the fabric markets of Sham Shui Po and the Goldfish Street in Prince Edward to trendy boutiques throughout various districts. The video culminates with renowned singer Eason Chan wearing outfits designed by her during his concert. The food segment invites a Hong Kong celebrity chef to take the lead; the family travel episode is guided by actor Simon Yam; and the nature and cultural exploration is hosted by acclaimed actor Lau Ching-wan, a lover of Hong Kong’s country parks.
The Four Seasons Hotel, which actively participated in the filming of the Hong Kong Tourism Board’s videos, is specially invited to promote Hong Kong cuisine in Taiwan. Chef Chan Yan-tak, Executive Chinese Chef at the hotel and the first Chinese chef to be awarded three Michelin stars, has maintained this prestigious honor for eight consecutive years. His signature gourmet dish, “Original Abalone & Chicken Crunch,” features slow-cooked South African abalone served with a rich sauce, atop a sweet and flaky crust that melts in your mouth with layers of flavor—a creative delight developed by Chef Chan. Other highlights include “Black Caviar Smoked Salmon Crisps,” “Black Truffle Crab Spring Roll Boxes,” and “Spicy Jellyfish Head,” all of which showcase the essence of Cantonese cuisine.
Chef Chan Yan-tak from the Four Seasons Hotel recommends that besides traditional Cantonese dim sum and fine dining, visitors should also explore Hong Kong’s street food scene, sampling iconic snacks such as fish balls, egg waffles, and cheung fun. The unique cha chaan teng (Hong Kong-style café) culture is another vibrant representation of the city’s energy and a key source of his culinary inspiration. These experiences allow visitors to fully appreciate the fusion of Eastern and Western flavors that define Hong Kong’s food culture. Several operators at the Hong Kong Pavilion are offering a Three-Night-Two-Day package at the Four Seasons Hotel, including daily breakfast, upgraded sea-view rooms, double occupancy, starting from just NT$18,999 (before tax) per person.
