The five-year-running “Winter Wonderland for Kids” has become as popular as the “Happy Christmas Town” during the Christmas season in Banqiao. This year, new family-friendly facilities have been added, ensuring that not only do children have a great time, but parents also enjoy bonding with their kids. Since opening on the 10th, the park has attracted large crowds daily, with weekends completely sold out.
Banqiao District Chief Lin Jingbang said that the Banqiao District Office has been organizing the “Winter Wonderland for Kids” event since 2012, introducing new features each year to offer more diverse experiences and create the best and happiest amusement park memories.
He mentioned that the original concept for the “Winter Wonderland for Kids” came from the idea that, in a child’s eyes, the entire world is the best playground, where everything is happy and beautiful.
This year, a range of free amusement facilities have been planned, including a five-story Ferris wheel where families can ride together and enjoy views of Banqiao’s urban area and park greenery. Other attractions include a pirate ship, a cheerful mini train, a courage bounce castle, as well as various DIY toys, an AR interactive experience zone, a floral welcome area, and a Christmas wish wall with Santa Claus.
Lin Jingbang emphasized that in the past, amusement rides were only for children, but this year the focus is on family fun, with adults also able to ride along with their kids. “Both big kids and little kids can enjoy the fun together,” he said. Sharing these moments as a family is the most precious Christmas gift they can give each other.
