Located right next to Bitou Fishing Harbor, it’s known as the “Mini Great Wall of the North Coast.” The entire trail is built along the mountain ridge. Not only can you enjoy the thrill of climbing, but when you’re tired, you can also stop and admire the sea view. It’s even more charming than the real Great Wall.

With an altitude of about 600 meters, No-Ear Teapot Mountain is a favorite hiking trail for many climbers. But did you know that this trail was actually made possible thanks to gold mining? Located in the Ruifang mountain area, “Fushan Temple” is the highest-elevation temple dedicated to the Earth God (Tudigong) in Jiufen. The original Fushan Temple was small and simple, but during the Japanese colonial period, gold miners’ prayers for successful gold extraction were answered, so devotees built an ornate outer structure around the small shrine, creating the unique sight of a temple within a temple.

At an altitude of 260 meters, Time-Keeping Mountain has a trail less than 200 meters long, making it more gentle and easier than the previous No-Ear Teapot Mountain—perfect for a relaxing hike. As you walk, you’ll enjoy the soothing feeling of being surrounded by mountains and sea. At the end of the trail is an observation deck where you can take in panoramic views of Yin-Yang Sea, Keelung Mountain, No-Ear Teapot Mountain, the ruins of the 13-Level Ore Processing Plant, disused flues, and Jingshui Highway. It’s truly a must-visit spot.

Deep Bay Rail Bike? starts at Badouzi Station and rides all the way to Shen’ao Station. The ride is short, just over 10 minutes, and you have to pedal the whole way, but there are no steep slopes — it’s pretty easy overall. ????? Here's the post about the Deep Bay Rail Bike. When I posted a story, so many people asked, so I’ll share a little about my experience? – During the trial run from 12/28–1/17, it was open Fridays to Sundays for online reservations, offering free rides for the public (residents of Ruifang could ride for free weekdays). I spent a full three hours trying to grab one of those free tickets—(the government system really needs an upgrade?). After 1/18, it went into official operation. Friends who want to come, remember not to just show up—you need to book online first. They’ll give you a QR code, and you just need to bring that to ride. Badouzi?Shen’ao Station ticket prices are one-way $150, round-trip $250. I recommend the round-trip ticket because Shen’ao Station feels kind of desolate? (I didn’t get off the train myself? ). You can first take a train to Badouzi Station or drive there (there’s a big open space opposite with parking that’s decent). The rail bikes are right next to Badouzi Station. – There are 24 pufferfish-shaped rail bikes? Each bike seats two people (no pets allowed / no stopping along the way for photos, just ride all the way through? ) The bikes are well-equipped with seatbelts, braking systems, hand brakes, and a bell (to warn small animals and pedestrians on the tracks). Each bike is independent — it’s safest to keep about 10 meters from the bike in front. The total track is about 1.3 km, and the ride takes around 20 minutes one-way (your legs will definitely get sore from all that pedaling? ). Check out the scenery in the video behind me??
