On the 10th, advance support personnel from a mainland commercial mountaineering team set off from Lhasa to the Everest Base Camp to begin preliminary camp construction work. The 2019 spring climbing season on Mount Everest has now officially commenced. The support team that departed this time is from the Tibet Yalaxiangbo Mountaineering Exploration Service Co., Ltd., and they will provide guidance, logistics, and other support services for mainland climbers during this climbing season.
According to data provided by the Tibet Mountaineering Association, in the spring of 2019, a total of 144 foreign climbers and 12 mainland climbers were approved to climb Mount Everest, while an additional mainland climber was permitted to trek at the North Col of Everest at an altitude of 7,028 meters. As required by the Tibet Mountaineering Association, for safety reasons, each climber attempting to summit Mount Everest should be accompanied by at least one high-altitude guide throughout the entire journey.
