The Taichung City Government held the “I Am the Mountain King” campaign to promote the Dakeng trails. They invited popular outdoor photographer Paul, who spent 12 hours capturing the scenic beauty of the trails. MiKa, a hiking beauty and travel influencer, selected family-friendly Trails 6 and 7 as well as leisurely Trails 5 and 5-1 to lead group hikes. Ecological experts and hiking enthusiasts also named various Dakeng trails, with the public invited to vote for their favorite names.
Director Lin Hsiao-chi of the Tourism and Travel Bureau is boosting tourism with creative initiatives to attract visitors. She introduced the “Spring Hike at Dakeng & Win Big” event, featuring a Dakeng trails photography contest, AR challenges, and a naming vote. The event offers prizes beloved by hiking and photography enthusiasts, and invites both domestic and international tourists to hike and explore Dakeng from June 5 to July 31 while enjoying AR games and capturing scenic views.
Lin Hsiao-chi said that they have specially invited MiKa, a hiking beauty and travel influencer, who will appear on the trails during the event period to join group hikes. Participants in the AR challenges and the Dakeng trail naming vote also have the chance to win prizes such as hiking maps.
The Taichung City Scenic Area Administration stated that besides enjoying the forest’s phytoncides, the Dakeng trails are surrounded by hot springs, local agricultural specialties, and delicious food, making them ideal for family-friendly holiday trips.
The “I Am the Mountain King – Dakeng Trail Marketing Promotion Event” adds fun to hiking and walking while utilizing the popular AR technology combined with the ecological features of Dakeng’s 12 trails, helping the public easily get to know the area. Recently, Trail 1, which was damaged by heavy rain, has been closed. To ensure visitor safety, it will not be included in this event.
