China News Service reported that on the 4th, the Suifenhe municipal government announced the official launch of a cross-border self-drive tour route between China and Russia, allowing tourists from both countries to freely clear customs at the highway port and enjoy self-driving tours in each other's countries.
Suifenhe is located in the southeastern part of Heilongjiang Province, bordering Russia's Primorsky Krai to the east, and is currently the largest land port in China leading to the Far East region. As early as early 2013, Russian tourists were permitted to drive within the city of Suifenhe.
