To promote the Dakeng hiking trails, the Taichung City Government has launched the "I’m the King of Hiking" event. Featuring renowned outdoor photographer Paul, who spent 12 hours capturing stunning views along the trails, and attractive female hikers appearing on the family-friendly Trails 6 and 7 as well as the leisurely Trails 5 and 5-1, the event encourages group hikes. Ecological experts and hiking enthusiasts have also named several Dakeng trails, and the public will be invited to vote for their favorite trail names.
Tourism Bureau Director Lin Hsiao-chi is boosting tourism with creative initiatives to attract visitors. The "Spring Hike at Dakeng and Win Big" event includes a hiking trail photography competition, AR challenges, and a naming vote, offering prizes favored by hiking and photography enthusiasts. It invites both domestic and international travelers to hike and explore Dakeng from June 5 to July 31, enjoy AR games, and capture scenic views.
Lin Hsiao-chi said that MiKa, a hiking beauty and popular travel influencer, will appear on the trails during the event to join group hikes. Participants in the AR challenges and the Dakeng trail naming vote can also win prizes such as hiking maps.
The Taichung City Scenic Area Administration stated that apart from enjoying the forest’s phytoncides, visitors can also explore nearby hot springs, local agricultural products, and delicious food along the Dakeng trails, making it ideal for a family-friendly two-day holiday. However, Trail 1, which was damaged by heavy rain recently, will not be included in the event.
